Vehicle Description: 1940 Lincoln Cabriolet --- #103 of 141 built in 1940. Body is all original with the exception of a third brake light and a side view mirror. Owned for over 40 years. I purchased this car from a Gal in Tucson. As with all Legends, there is the typical story-line that includes a secondhand retelling of titillating, though somewhat scandalous details. For this reason, I will decline to expound. Suffice it to say that this was a marvelous car in every respect, and I was determined to own it and restore it to its original condition. Normal activities of daily living slowed my progress, but after over a decade, the '40 was fully restored. In 1989, I took my beauty on what turned out to be an 8-hour trip to Flagstaff from Phoenix. That was not a typo --- It took 8 hours to travel 144 miles. By the time I got back to Phoenix, it was clear to me that I would need to make some modifications.

I have been working on cars for close to 7-decades. One thing that I could never resist was perfecting my work. Over the next decade or so, I breathed and dreamed about how to restore this fine distinctive classic into a resto-mod that would retains its elegant styling, while performing in the 21st century world --- 2.5 hours to Flagstaff from Phoenix was my goal and I was determined to achieve it!

Finally, my Wife and I were driving wherever we wanted with the top down and the heat on! These were glorious times....The car has won over 42-awards, and I have to admit that it would have been many more, but we were asked to give other owner's a chance to win something, so we would stand back and not enter. Regardless, the car just could not help magnetizing the accolades and sheer excitement of the crowd...What can we say? We could not help it that we were beautiful!

My Wife passed away a few months ago, and driving the car does not hold the same thrill for me as it once did.. It is time to let someone else enjoy this rare luxury. There is nothing quite like driving down the street in this car. In addition to the smooth and luxurious ride, it is impossible to not be mistaken for a movie star, or at least a very important person. Although I consider myself to be a regular, everyday grease monkey, I have enjoyed everything about this car.
